Stand Out From the Crowd in Your Business

As business owners and leaders, it is important that we build trusting and strong relationships with our existing customers and new customers. We want loyal customers to keep coming back and interested customers to consider us. Relationship marketing is a subset of customer relationship management or CRM. Relationship marketing focuses on long-term customer engagement that can eventually lead to customer acquisition and sales increase The goal of relationship marketing is to build strong relationships that go beyond a single transaction with our company. A customer may be interested in your product or service at the time of purchase, but how can you build a connection that will keep them coming back and staying loyal to your company? We’ve gathered a few tips and tricks you can follow to build a strong relationship marketing strategy.

  1. E-Commerce

Having a webpage where customers can go to learn more information and feel part of your organization is a great way to build a relationship with them. For example, if fitting, your website could include a section where customers can create a user profile that saves their information for the next time they visit your site. This will allow you to tailor the information on the platform to their needs and also track customer activity.

  1. Customer Service

It is no secret that as consumers we always want to receive high-quality customer service. When you are on the phone with a company from which you are in need of service for a problem, you want to be understood. Customers appreciate when employees are kind, enthusiastic, and empathetic to their needs. A customer who is consistently impressed by your customer service will more than likely be more loyal to you.

  1. That Extra Touch

A major part of relationship marketing is going beyond your customer’s expectations. Let’s say you are the owner of a small retail store. What’s expected of your business is good customer service, an online platform, and the newest trends. However, there are some extra touches you can add to keep customers interested and loyal. Consider starting a rewards program or an email list for loyal customers to receive special deals or free gifts on their birthday. Showing your appreciation for customer loyalty will help you gain new customers and keep loyal customers happy. Even sending birthday wishes through email or thank you cards can be a small detail the customer will truly appreciate.

  1. Hold customer events

A great way to build brand awareness and find or retain customers is by hosting events where you can connect and build a community for your customers. For example, the popular athleisure brand “Lululemon” holds sponsored events where their customers can enjoy workout sessions while connecting with other people in the community. This strategy is perfect for interacting one-on-one with your consumer base. It is important that your consumers see you and get to know the face behind the brand.

Running a business is not simply about transactional marketing where you only focus on increasing the number of sales. To build a lasting customer base, you must think about long-term strategies such as relationship marketing. If you’re unsure about where to start, consider reaching out to a Virtual Assistant to help you kickstart the process.

Free Marketing Tips for the Small Business Owner

No matter how big or small your business may be, marketing is always a good idea if you are wanting to grow. Here are a few marketing techniques that don’t cost thousands.

  1. Host an Online Event
    1. This method is especially good if you have a message behind your business, unique service, or anything cool that people would enjoy watching. Sites like Eventbrite are a great ticket promoting platform, with free options. Set up a scheduled live stream or Zoom where people can see your unique service or product. It’s a great way to gain an audience and give people something to do, especially with everything moving virtually due to COVID.
  1. Start a YouTube Channel
    1. This one is much like the online event, but easier for you to arrange. You can film the same thing as mentioned above but put time into editing and upload it at your convenience. You can market the channel which in return will promote your business and grow your following.
  1. Commenting
    1. Commenting on other people’s posts is something social media marketers use to engage with others. First, find your competitor and then go to the list of people who have liked or are following the account. Next, start to like or comment nice things on their posts, things of value, not spam. This will bring them back to your account and it’s 100% free.
  1. Optimization
    1. SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is a great way to get your website to rank higher in Google searches. You can hire someone to do this or just search up the highest-ranking words for your type of business/product/service and put them into the backend of your site. There are tons of YouTube videos on how to do this process.
  1. Hashtags
    1. Hashtags are super important when you’re wanting to market yourself for free. Like the one above, search the most used hashtags for your product/business/service and put them into the comment section or caption of your posts. No matter if it’s on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, TikTok, etc. hashtags are always a good idea.

The Importance of Branding Yourself

Whether you are an entrepreneur, or someone looking to get employed by others, branding yourself is one item in your personal portfolio that can make or break you.

Why Is It Important?
Over 70% of employers say they check social media accounts to see who “you really are”. They want to see if how you present yourself online aligns with the company’s beliefs. If you’re an entrepreneur/ small business owner, many people will probably Google your name and see what populates. We’ve all “googled” someone at some point. You want people to see positive things but also relate to you as a human being.

Where Do You Start?
Branding yourself normally starts with social media. As I’ve said before, you will probably be searched at some point and the first thing that will pop up is ALL of the social media accounts with your name attached to them. Make sure you’re posting appropriate content that speaks to who you are as a person. Social media is like a peek into what you do in your free time and/or your personal accomplishments. People want to know how you are spending your time and what you have to say about it.

Oprah Winfrey
Oprah has proven to be one of the best at personal branding, almost anyone in the world knows her name. With an estimated net worth over $2 billion, she (I am sure she has a social media manager) always is posting content that revolves around staying true to yourself and your passions. This kind of content brings people in and also empowers them- while benefiting her personal image and growing her following.

Outcomes of Personal Branding
Not only will you have a solid foundation of who you are as a person and your values on display for people to connect to, but also your brand will be able to evolve/adapt to the changing world. You may start a small business and the product is slowly going out of style- if you are attaching your name to that business and bringing your customers to your own personal image then they will be attached to not your business, but you. They have the potential to follow you around on your next business endeavor because people like to support like minded or positive people.

Personal branding is growing in importance now thanks to social media, and your entire life story can be just a click away. Most importantly, make sure you are portraying yourself in a connecting, encouraging, and honest way.

5 Ways To Grow Your Business Using Digital Media Marketing In 2021

Marketing your business in the era of 2020/2021 may seem like it’s more difficult than ever, but that’s not necessarily the truth. More people are having to stay home instead of going out or going to work in general, which has resulted in a massive increase of social media usage.

What does this mean for marketing in this day and age? Digital Media.

Digital media may be that key ingredient to growth and success in your business. Millions of people are right at your fingertips and those people are in your businesses demographic.

With all of that being said, here are 5 ways to grow your business in 2021 using Digital Media Marketing.

  1. Have your business known across all platforms.

No matter your avenue of business, having an account with your brand image across the board is the most important thing you could ever do. Some of the most well known social media platforms to market on include, but are not limited to Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.

  1. Develop a cohesive brand image.

Having a consistent and cohesive brand image across all platforms helps develop a sense of identity in your business and allows consumers to gain trust.

  1. Build trust.

Consumers like trust. They want to be able to buy your product or pay for your service with a guarantee that you will hold up your end of the deal and meet their needs. Ways to do this is making clear not only your refund or guarantee policy but having a mission or about us statement to where they can learn about the person “behind the screen”.

  1. Take advantage of paid ads.

Platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest give you access to millions of people in your businesses target demographic using keywords and an age range. You can set daily, weekly, or monthly budgets where you gain insight on the number of people who will see your business.

  1. Take advantage of SEO (Search Engine Optimization).

Once you create a solid website for your company, SEO can be a major factor in getting your name out in the world. What is SEO? It is a set of keywords put in both the front and backend of your website in order to show up higher on search engine rankings.

Doing these 5 simple, yet impactful things can lead to serious growth in your company.

Not sure how to start doing these things or simply don’t have time? We here at Life By Design have you covered. Reach out today and learn how we can take this weight off your back.  www.lifebydesignvaservices.com/contact

Virtual Assistant VS Employee: Which One Do You Need?

Have you been struggling to make a decision whether to hire an employee or contract out a virtual assistant? Sometimes an employee is a better choice, especially if you need someone to be at a job site in person, but many times a virtual assistant can do anything an employee can do, without the extra hassle. Here are a few ways virtual assistants are more beneficial than an employee.

No Extra Hidden Costs

Did you realize that when you hire an employee for a specific rate of pay, that isn’t the actual pay? You have to factor in those extra costs. There are payroll taxes, worker’s comp, unemployment insurance, vacation days, sick days, holidays, and benefits. Those can add up fast.

That means that many times you are actually paying double an employee’s salary by having them on your payroll. But a virtual assistant’s cost is exactly what was agreed upon in the contract. Much simpler with much less paperwork.

No Wasted Time That You Are Paying For

A virtual assistant only charges for the hours they work, most using time tracking software to keep it as close to the minute as possible. You don’t have to pay them for breaks. No socializing at the water cooler. You only pay for the actual time they are working and for the services they are supposed to provide.

No Overhead

A virtual assistant provides all their own equipment, and their own office in their home. You don’t have to pay electric, phone, internet or office space rental for virtual assistants. The savings there can be monumental!

Many VAs Specialize and Don’t Need Trained

It’s possible to choose a virtual assistant based on their experience and expertise. You choose one specifically for projects you need done, either once or ongoing. In most cases, they already know how to do the jobs you need completed, you just have to show them your particular methods and any specifics they need to know. This saves training time and cost!

Flexible Hours

When you hire an employee, there are normally set work hours. However, a virtual assistant, more often works based on task deadlines rather than set hours. This can be a great time saver as well!

There are many reasons to choose hiring a virtual assistant over an employee, but these are just a few of the top ones. If you are a busy business owner who needs some help with getting organized, lowering your workload, or just getting some things off your plate temporarily, a virtual assistant may be the answer you’ve been looking for.

How to Never Run Out of Content Ideas For Your Blog

Blogs can be a power house for your business in the long term if you keep adding valuable content weekly.

I know what you’re thinking, that you will run out of ideas for your blog. I’m going to show you an easy way to stay on top of what people are looking for and how to keep coming up with ideas to write about in your blog every single week.

First things first, don’t get caught up in making it perfect. People get crazy about getting it perfect and thinking they need to make sure the wording is perfect, maybe you want a perfect photo for the blog post and a perfect signature line at the bottom, with the perfect key words.

People get stuck on the perfection of their post and end up spending 3 or more hours on a blog post and then they quit blogging because they think it takes too long. It doesn’t. It usually takes me about 30 minutes to come up with and write out my blog post. Stop getting caught up in making it perfect and just let it be real and simple.

OK, now with that out of the way, here are 3 Tips on How to Never Run Out of Content Ideas For Your Blog:

  1. Google Keyword Planner. This a very cool free way to find out what people are searching for on Google. Go to adwords.google.com and then go to keyword planner under tools. Or just do a google search for the keyword planner. Basically you can search in your niche and see what other people are searching for.  For example, if you type in the word weight loss, it will show you what people have been searching for pertaining to weight loss. So if you are in health and wellness, you could use this tool to figure out what you should blog about that pertains to that particular subject. I did this earlier today to use as an example and it brought up these: how to lose weight, lose weight fast, diet plans, weight loss supplements, recipes for weight loss, and others. Keyword planner is a good place to start for ideas.
  1. Google Trends. Another good way to get ideas for content is google.com/trends. This will tell you what is trending right now on Google. You can search different terms related to your niche to find out what others are talking about online and get ideas from them. This will help you know what is popular right now.
  1. The simplest way to find what to write about is to learn from other people. There is nothing new under the sun. So learn from the leaders in your niche. Follow other blogs in your niche and see what top leaders are blogging about and which types off posts are getting the most views and likes right now. If you are in health and wellness, then follow and learn from leaders in health and wellness. Take their blog ideas and make them your own. Don’t plagiarize, but take pieces and put into your own words. You can google blogs in your specific niche. If you are in a company that sells makeup look up beauty blogs and so on. If you want to blog weekly, then sit down at the beginning of every week and research for a few minutes, read blogs on what it is you want to write about that week. Then, get ideas and convert those ideas into your own words.

The important thing is to just get good, relevant, valuable information out there and you will see your blog and your audience start to grow.

To your success,
